Sherry Lee Fraser was grew up in the beautiful Fraser River Valley in southern BC, Canada. She has been married to Kevin for 28 years and has two grown sons. She has been a fine artist for over 25 years using watercolor as her primary medium. She has always had a passion for art and a sincere love for children. The latter became most apparent when she was a school crossing guard for 6 years. Many of the children who crossed her street and who still remember her fun and friendly attitude have grown up still say hi to her. During this time Sherry was involved in a Church drama troupe and connected with the owners of a balloon party store and began delivering balloon bouquets with theatrical flair. The owners encouraged her to become self taught in the art of balloon toy twisting which she did. Opportunities to include face painting to her balloon toy twisting arose and for a few years she practiced these entertainment arts as an amateur. She dressed as a traditional clown for awhile but her dislike for performing magic tricks; her flawed juggling techniques along with hiding her face behind a lot of makeup, made her very unhappy. She was trying to be something she was not. Her self esteem and value as an entertainer were slow to grow and remained at a hobby level for a number of years. Sherry decided that she loved this work and made a life altering decision to turn professional and to ‘just be herself.’ She still wears bright crazy outfits and a pretty face paint design on her face to events where she interacts with the kids in an outgoing manner that is an extension of her own personality. She often adds youth orientated music to energize her and the children along with some silliness and loud singing along to the music. Her character name is ‘Sherry Blossom’, a nickname she had in high school…but she rarely uses it since the children seem to prefer real people and real names. Most importantly, she gives her young clients a few moments of special attention and makes sure she gives them what they want on their face or bodies which is always awesome and vibrant quality face and body art along with a necessary dash of glitter! An artistic entertainer was born. She took her artistic talents and fun attitude to a professional level in 2006 where she named her business ‘Imagine That Art Works.’ Sherry attended a full time business training program for one year while also practicing, developing, researching and performing her entertainment arts. Hard work has paid off today as her value as an entertainer and her self esteem has grown steadily along with her long list of prestigious clients and her unique and amazing face and body painting skills. Her husband Kevin {nicknamed ‘Mr. Cautious’} has joined Sherry in her business and at events where he pushes balloon art skills to the max. He creates a nervous tension with the people in line up who laugh and wince at the squeaking and tight twisting he does while he interacts and teases good-naturedly with the children in line. Although Sherry still twists balloons too, Kevin has taken this skill over with much passion and finesse. Sherry’s Professional Face and Body Painting are quickly gaining a name for artistic excellence throughout Canada and into the USA. Her skills as a fine artist and her association with other professional fine artist’s have helped her develop her face and body art skills rapidly. She is completely self taught and has a drive to continuously upgrade and push her skills ahead of her current ability. She often practices daily! Today, her business and artistic entertainments are sought after by professional companies, event planners and the clients or families who want to bring fun and artistic excellence to the children at their special corporate or family events.
